  • The My Digital Escape Tour I enjoyed very much, I got to meet most of the members since some of them had some unforeseen issues arise. When I arrived there, the line was relatively small, the tour bus arrived shortly after. The bus had to park in a different area then when it arrived on Markham Street and it did block traffic for a bit and prevented some TTC streetcars from moving. Eventually the bus was parked and they got everything they needed from the trailer attached and brought it into the venue. The weather was cold outside and there were 175 people waiting outside. When waiting outside, there was a bouncer from Hard Luck and he had a loud, stern voice. He said something along the lines of "Listen up, we're going to check your ID's, if you have any drinks, drink it now, clear the sidewalks". The other bouncer I found was a bit more professional when drawing the X's on my hand (when you are under 19, they draw X's on your hand). At about 5:00PM, they ushered us inside and the stern voice bouncer said "stay to the left side of the stairs and move up now". When I had my order confirmation papers, they charged me 25 dollars for the ticket. So I sort of jogged to the atm when a man who I'd assume works for Hard Luck asked me "where are you running off to" I said the ATM since I needed to pay the ticket, and apologised for jogging. After that, I purchased the ticket from the upstairs section where you received your signed MDE poster. At that point, they told us that there was a coat check and they charged 4 dollars for putting your coat up on a rack. I asked the lady who put the coats and bags away why is there a need to charge 4 dollars for putting away our stuff, she said she has no idea and just works there. At the end of the day, the MDE members were nice and made you feel like you were one of them (with their open arms for hugs since they are such hug-aholics) and take a photo with them. Bouncers constantly told people to move back yet there should have been some sort of white line on the ground determining that. Hard luck bar is just a venue that does not really care much about the people who come inside, most people who work at Hard luck come off as rude in my opinion. I hope one day they completely overhaul their current ways and system.
