| - The staff is amazing and very helpful, my dogs always feel comfortable when they have to go for check ups. Always have cash or a personal check because they don't accept credit cards.
This is an update...
I brought one member of my pet family in for an appointment and decided to walk out due to what went on in the lobby. My dog is not a pitbull, he was on a leash and sitting basically on my feet; a woman walked out of an exam room and made ignorant comments because she assumed it was a pitbull. I brushed it off, but then heard what she was saying at the front desk. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if it is wrong it does not need to be encouraged. The lady began telling some story about some pitbulls that mauled a man, she said the man ended up paralyzed (which is a shame) and then continued to bad mouth the entire breed. The front desk lady said they could be a mean breed.
ANY BREED CAN BE MEAN, it is not the breed or the dog, it is how it is raised. I could have handled the lady's ignorance, but nobody needs to encourage that type of thinking, especially someone working at an animal hospital.
When I left I received a phone call, I told them that I apologized for leaving the appointment and that I did not feel comfortable taking my fury friend somewhere like that. The woman said she and the staff did not say anything, which could be correct because they did not even try to say anything that would suggest any dog could attack. When I tried to explain that I was not suggesting the staff was intentionally rude, she hung up on me. I guess customer service is not a part of the job requirement.
It is truly awful that pitbulls are so hated and there is nothing being done to educate.
