| - I'm not a fancy girl by any means, but I do most certainly enjoy a fancy thing or two once in a while. Treat yo self as they say...Or in my case, let others treat you! For my birthday this year, with my bones getting older and creakier, my thoughtful boyfriend sent me off to the spa complete with a deep tissue Swedish massage. Forget the birthday shots, dismantle my knots!
I didn't know where the Spa was located, so I made the mistake of parking in the garage and walking through the casino. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and instructed to go down the stairs. Here, I was met by a spa attendant who gave me some slippers and a tour of the facility. She was very helpful in teaching me how to use the locker, offering me a new bathrobe, etc. I forgot her name, but she was a nice older Hispanic lady.
First impression: pristine and quiet! I went on a weekday morning, so that may have lent itself to the lack of other spa-goers initially. I didn't mind at all. I had the women's jacuzzi all to myself. Relaxing view and a great way to unwind. I didn't have time to try the saunas, but the showers were nice with their rainfall shower head. I sipped a complimentary cranberry juice while I waited in the lounge area before my appointment.
Michelle was my masseuse and she was amazing! She asked if I had any allergies, what areas for her to focus on, and then went to work. I've been to plenty of those cheap foot spa places that do full-body, but I could tell Michelle was way more meticulous, getting all up in the knots as if she was massaging each muscle individually. At times, it hurt, but in a good way! My shoulders are definitely my problem area and she succeeded in loosening them up. I really needed this legit massage/spa day. Thank you!
