  • Okay so being a local born and raised I've learned to always avoid the strip on pretty much everything, food, movies, entertainment, etc when it comes to money because of the massively over priced things they offer. Well after hanging on the strip window shopping for a little bit I saw Battlefield Vegas and figured "why not, let me go shoot some guns". The place was packed with people but they got me in very fast despite the long lines. I'm no stranger to firearms so I was very excited to be in the place and get to see all the wonderful stuff they had for you to shoot. They have a weapon for every type of personality from standard Colt 1911s and AK-47s to the Dirty Harry Magnum. If you're feeling a bit nostalgic they also have Colt six shooters and coach guns along with a massive array of WWII era weapons like the grease gun and of course Thompson submachine gun. I opted for the Makarov a small Russian pistol similar to the Walther though a tad bit bigger and with less parts to it. The price was reasonable and I also got a discount for being a local. They hand you a buzzer similar to when you go to a restaurant and once it buzzes you head back to where the range is. After about 10 minutes my buzzer vibrated and I headed back to the range to get my safety gear and my firearm. I was greeted by an immensely knowledgeable and all around cool guy named "Bucky" who taught me all I needed to know on the Makarov and the safety of handling the firearm. Since I had never fired a Makarov and was new to this particular gun I was very thankful for all the knowledge Bucky gave. He led me to the back range and gave a small firearm safety refresher course before loading the Makarov and letting me shoot. The shooting experience was fantastic and with the tips I got I was very impressed with how my aim improved. The experience was fantastic and I will definitely return to Battlefield Vegas either to shoot that Makarov again or to pick something different. The only con to this place has nothing to do with Battlefield Vegas as a whole and that was that the place was particularly filled with some rowdy tourists who were more interested in looking cool for their "frat boy" buds than learning the proper safety on how to handle a firearm. Other than those tourists I had a very enjoyable experience and will definitely 100% return to Battlefield Vegas.
