rev:text	Just left this nail salon upset, tired and frustrated after a less-than-pleasant experience. I made an appointment to have a biogel manicure removed. The website stated "removal and express manicure - $25". They earned their two stars when I was greeted warmly and shown to my chair. The young lady helping me was very kind, although she seemed rushed. She was also battling a cold (but had the decency to wear a mask). I asked the young woman to not cut my cuticles as they become quite ragged and frayed after cutting. She said she understood - and proceeded to cut several despite my asking not to do so. I also expressed I didn't want another gel manicure. She insisted it was better than shellac (ANYTHING is better than shellac - it ruins your nails) and I agreed to gel on my natural nails. There was some miscommunication as she used a regular nail polish once she finished applying gel and shaping my nails. I was dismayed and disgusted when she pulled out a filthy gel setting machine. It had brown smudges on what is supposed to be a pristine white surface. The inside of the machine was grimy. The young lady set out a small fan for my nails to dry and disappeared. After nearly ten minutes another nail technician looked at me and said "you can go". My hands were so dry and my cuticles were already starting to show signs of wear. I asked the woman for some hand lotion, which she slapped into my hand. I had to give myself a hand massage with drying lotion. I ended up paying $55 for this mess. The woman helping me was so rushed that I have nail polish on my ragged cuticles. I was so upset I walked out of there without tipping the nail technician. I'm a generous tipper when it comes to manicures and pedicures. Most nail techs work very hard for little pay. Those "cheap" nail prices come at a very steep price. This was the first time I've refused to tip someone. I know I don't look like their usual "old money" clientele but me and my new money will never step foot in that place again. Poor service. Less than stellar workspaces and dirty machinery. Don't bother with this place. I'll stick with my downtown nail salons.
