| - Summer is not complete without a trip to USNWC. To be honest, I've never done any of the sport activities because I think the pricing is a bit steep. You can definitely find cheaper kayak and paddle board rentals elsewhere. So, what keeps me coming back? The free concerts.
Seriously, $5 for parking and entertainment plus excellent people watching is a fantastic value to me. Yes, you cannot bring in outside food and drinks, but I think the pricing for the drinks and food at the bar area and food trucks is very fair. Last time we went, we grabbed a burger for $7 and a chicken sandwich for $7 from the bar area. Both were very tasty and filling. Restaurant quality, no, but better than fast food and deserving of a higher price point. The bar area has a ton on tap, at least 24, with a heavy focus on local craft beers. A 16 ounce pour of Good Morning Vietnam from Wooden Robot was $6, which is very fair considering you are at a special events place. USNWC is very dog friendly. We always bring water for our dog, and have never had an issue about it from the employees.
One minor point, since the water sports have reopened, it definitely smells very chlorine/bleach-heavy now. It definitely didn't in the past. Good that USNWC is doing their best to keep folks safe in the water, but a warning to people with allergies or sensitive noses.
