| - I need to go back to Visible Voice and just browse. Last time I went in there, I was sort of in a hurry and was looking for something somewhat specific (a theme-based children's book for a classroom lesson plan). I had to just get in and get out. But here's what I gathered from that brief visit:
-very warm, cozy interior with lots of "nooks." I think if you're a bookstore, you're striving for nooks. Or at least it's a bonus.
-rumors about patios/coffee/wine/performance, but again, I didn't come for that purpose and didn't scope it out too much. But that is enough of a draw to return.
-I got what I was "looking for." And I didn't browse through many other sections, but the children's section was diverse and interesting. I saw lots of cool, progressive books there.
The only reason they lose a star is because the people working there seemed really pretentious. This is sorta the place where the staff isn't really there to serve you, but rather, entertain themselves while occasionally helping someone. They reluctantly stop their conversation to assist. If I'm nervous to check out, that's bad news. (However, I do realize that it could have just been who was there that day. I'll have to return to see what's up.)
