| - I've been to Tuttu Pasta many times over the years and have always liked it, even recommended it. I can no longer recommend it because of the terrible service and utter disregard for customers. When we first got there and our waiter ask us for our drink order I asked if I could split my daughter and I off from the other five adults who were with us, a practice relatively common in Madison, he told me begrudgingly "it's a table of 7 and normally we don't do that but I will." It was going to be two bills...not 7, so I'm not sure that we were asking a lot. You could tell he was not happy. So he left to get our drinks. Meanwhile, the bus person was dropping plates in a curtain-sectioned off area right next to our table, dropping them so loudly in the small space we were in that we could not hear each other talk. This happened over and over and over again for 15 minutes or more. I am sound sensitive and it was getting me on edge. The food arrived at a reasonable time so no problems there, and the food was decent. We tried repeatedly to get the attention of the bus person for her to stop dropping plates and silverware into her tubs in that room but she either couldn't understand us or ignored us. So we asked our waiter if he could have a word with her to please keep the noise down when dropping the plates in the tubs because it was deafening. He said yes, but you could tell he wasn't going to and from what we could tell he never did. After the seven of us were clearly finished, with very few tables occupied in the entire place, we waited and waited for the waiter to come back, at least 10 minutes if not longer. He walked by several times, serving other tables, but did not check on us even though we were clearly done and waiting. I eventually sought him out by walking downstairs to the bar where he was getting a drink order for another table and I asked him to stop by. Another long period of time passed by before he stopped by and asked about desserts. I guess he didn't like my response in mentioning how long it had taken, so he said to me aggressively "why are you so rude?" I told him we had been waiting an inordinate amount of time for him to get back to his table and I think I said I likely wouldn't come back to the restaurant. The waiter then said "Don't come back" and then I told him I'd be going on Yelp about this and he said "go ahead." I couldn't believe what I was hearing and neither could the other adults at my table. My sister-in-law then asked the waiter to get the manager, who came up to speak with us but the waiter was right behind her. We asked for the waiter not to be there (why would he be?) and we then explained to the manager what happened. The manager apologized and said it was not acceptable. The waiter was aggressive and outright confrontational with me, which I believe to be grounds for dismissal right then and there. He was aggressive with me to the point of him losing his temper as if I, the customer, had done something wrong by expecting decent service and holding him accountable. Clearly the Management hadn't to this point. I don't trust that anything will change at this restaurant. His arrogance and attitude toward me and the table was beyond belief. If they're hiring people like him, then something is wrong. Then we got our bill (one bill, not two separated out as requested) and as a table of 7 they had automatically put on a tip on the bill. I believe tables of 8 required that, not tables of 7 at this restaurant, but I could be wrong. I had to ask the manager to remove the tip to be removed completely as did the others in my party. He got no tip from me, the first time in 30 years I've ever done that. I don't expect much, but I do expect for a waiter to provide normal, attentive service. If that's what this place has become, no more for me and I can no longer recommend it. Decent food but not worth the unbelievably horrible, disrespectful service I got from this waiter, the loud disrespectful bussing from the bus person, and the fact that this guy was not talked to right then and there by the manager. Madison has too many good restaurants for me to ever step foot in this place again.
