| - So I came to see the hype for myself, with over 500 reviewers and FIVE stars. That's almost unheard of.
Their service definitely deserves the five stars. They apparently have an excellent happy hour, for which I came about 30 minutes before it was ending. Our hostess said our table would be done in 20 minutes, which it didn't so she said that if it goes past the 6PM mark, she'd let the server know to still give us some time to order some happy hour dishes.
Most of the food was pretty good. I had a whole variety of things. The stuff on their HH is pretty standard, nothing too special, like spicy tuna roll, salmon avocado roll, and this cajun seared ahi. Nothing too 5 star worthy, but still well made and pretty standard. Also ordered the mixed sashimi platter. Some of those cuts were pretty darn good. The scallop was sweet and fresh. Their salmon was nice and fatty. Their fish roe has a seaweed bite which made it taste great. I'm not a fan of some of the other cuts, like red snapper, but they were still enjoyable. Also had their warm octopus salad or something..that's not something I'd recommend to anybody. I like octopus but not only was it good, the flavors didn't match with anything else on that menu that we had ordered. It was very off.
I didn't get to try their Omakase, but what we ordered was pretty good, so I think I will come back and try that one day. Overall, general sashimi cuts were pretty good, but their other happy hour stuff--it's a good deal for HH, wouldn't order them normally. Service is great. I'd recommend this place, probably not for happy hour though.
