  • I'm a little sad to give this update... I love Scarpetta. I returned here for dinner after about a year and a half and there was something that just wasn't the same about it. The restaurant itself is still outstanding. And the food is great, EXCEPT, one thing just didn't seem the same anymore. The shortrib appetizer. All of us at the table agreed that something changed and it really wasn't good. In fact, it's definitely now something I wouldn't order again. The meat was dry and the flavor just wasn't there. And as for service, our waiter was nice...but there was a server who continued to hover around our table. Attentiveness is appreciated but hovering when we're trying to enjoy our dinner was a little annoying. And my last gripe - I ordered the chocolate souffle for dessert. Normally, the servers set it up for you and show you how to pour the chocolate over, put the toppings, etc. But nothing. They just placed this gigantic beautiful souffle in front of me and I stared it at like how am I supposed to eat this. It was great, but I just thought it was weird that they didn't offer any help. I still love Scarpetta but ... this night they were a little off.
