| - When I go to Pacific Mall and get some groceries too, I usually came here to shop. But I don't think that I want to go there again :( Don't get me wrong, the food selection of Asian foods is ok and the prices are low. But a few months ago I was at the meat counter there, hoping to order some chicken breasts and I waited to get service. And waited some more. They served other customers, and I stood there for 10 minutes or something and NOBODY would help me. Why not? Racism (I am white)? Lack of my Chinese language skills?
Then I got lucky, but not because of anyone working at the store. My boyfriend came to meet me there and he is Chinese. Then I went to the counter with him and asked for some chicken breasts. The man behind the counter looked at my boyfriend and he translated, and I got the meat that I wanted. If I had not met my boyfriend there, I would probably not have gotten served at all. What the heck is that? You just ignore a customer who wants service and hope that she leaves?!
Well, excuse me that I speak just four languages, including both official languages of Canada, but not Cantonese or Mandarin. Since staff at T & T are helpful, non-racist, and they do their best to serve their customers, I rather then just carry my money to T & T instead of Grand Fortune Food Mart.
I know that T & T appreciates my money, even though I don't look Chinese, and even though I don't speak Cantonese nor Mandarin.
