DANCE SWIM VIEW DRINK
You can do all of that up on the roof here but not in that particular order. This is the hottest new mega club in Las Vegas. It is built on top of the old Barbary Coast Casino which has been fully remodeled. Drai's was a cool underground club in the basement of the old hotel. The underground club is still here but Drai's expanded to the rooftop with the renovation. Drai's manages two night clubs with a hotel and casino sandwiched in between the parties.
The staff and security were great. It was very easy to get in and We were whisked upstairs in a hurry. I was also attending a private party thrown by AJA Systems at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention. This is the party to attend and is the event of the year for the broadcast industry. There was plenty of food and drink to be had by all. I didn't sample the passed apps because I had just eaten an amazing meal at Rao's across the street. I honestly couldn't eat another thing. I loved the fact that there seemed to be plenty of food being passed around. People need food in their belly when they are drinking.
The bar also stocked Tito's. I was a little worried at first because the Tito's bottle wasn't displayed nicely with the other expensive vodkas on the lite up back bar shelf. It was actually hidden in the well below the bar. I kind of noticed this occurring at every bar in Vegas. Tito's drinkers are in the know. I just wish Vegas bars realized how good the vodka tastes and displayed it with some pride. It doesn't have to be from Europe or Russia to be good vodka.
The dance floor was packed for most of the night. I did not dance because the floor was packed with mostly dudes. Why? The broadcast community has way too many dudes but throw liquor in them, a confetti gun, giant lasers & flashing lights and they will dance with anybody. Now don't get me wrong there were some women out there. I am sure on a non private event night this dance floor is packed full of women. The lighting and entertainment factor is truly spectacular.
There are giant glass doors that open up in the back of the dance floor but when we arrived the walls were closed. The security told is that the winds were too strong. It was really windy outside but I think the staff wanted the dance floor packed first before they let the overflow move into the outdoor pool area.
Eventually they opened the glass doors and everyone streamed out to the pool area. There are amazing views up and down the strip. This is a great place to take some photos. It is also nice to go outside because you can actually talk to your buddies without having to scream over the music.
This place is a great club on the strip. It's the hottest night club but you never know what new mega club is going to open up down the street. Vegas is packed full of these type of mega dance clubs. I have no idea how the cool kids chooses where to go but if your looking for the latest and greatest entertainment this is the place you need to visit.
