Lets just start with me being a regular at Rosie's. I know Seamus well enough to tell him I hate the new tables that replaced the booths on the far side of the bar. So with that out of the way why am I doing this review?
Well I'll tell you!
Missy recently started as a waitress and if you have not experienced her service you really need to drop in. This is how an Irish pub should be, great food, great beer and whisky, and an on top of it waitress who knows how to banter.
Frankly the service can be hit or miss at lunch. One time I had to go get the bartender who was smoking outside and talking on her cell phone. When i came in that day I thought the place was closed. Even with that the food was great and a waiter arrived and it got better.
But now!!! on Wednesday Thursday and Friday for lunch you get Missy. Flaming red hair and attitude. She remembers who you are, what you eat and who your wife is (if you bring it up). I changed my order today and had the corn beef Ruben Missy gave me a raised eyebrow look and asked if I was sure and then brought that wonderful sandwich.
Great service can make mediocre food work but bad service can overcome the value of world class food. In this case there is wonderful service and great food when Missy is on duty.
I usually get a pub burger with a whole chili and pepper jack cheese (not on the menu) but the Ribs are wonderful, the corn beef sandwich is worth driving there to get (especially with a Guinness), and more.
So drop in for lunch and ask for mIssy and prepare to be made at home.
