So Dolce is this rather large building and looks to be very nice from the outside.
Walking inside however, well it's rather tacky.
Immediately inside the doors is the front desk and lots of crap for sale.
They of course sell hair, skin and bath products but they also sell cheap tacky clothing, shoes and hand bags. It really brings the feel of the place down several notches.
The decor inside also leaves a lot to be desired. Every wall in the place seems to be wall papered. Normally not an issue right? Well in this case each wall is wall papered in a different colored damask print.
And to touch it off there are many plastic chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, but they are all different colored as well and look cheap.
So we were seated in the waiting area for a few minutes before being taken upstairs to the relaxation room.
There was nothing relaxing about it at all. The music was slightly too loud and there was a waterfall which added to the noise.
My friend and I each had facials and we LOVED them. I would go back for a facial anytime.
We also had manicures and pedicures. The person doing my nails was right on time, but my friends person was running behind.
In my mind it would have been smarter for my person to do my friend since hers would take longer (she was having her nails painted, I obviously was not)
After we were done we both mentioned to each other that our manis/pedis felt very rushed and we didn't feel relaxed at all. I wish we had our facials after our manis/pedis.
And our manis/pedis were rather pricey. I could have gone to one of those nail places in the mall and had a mani and spa pedi with hot stone leg massage for half of what I paid for just a basic mani/pedi at Dolce.
Upon checking out, without asking, we were both rung up together not seperately. The cashier mentioned to my friend that her facialist (is that a real word??) had recommended some products, listed the products but made no mention as to what they did or why they were recommended. My friend declined but the cashier didn't offer me anything.
So it was a pretty ok experience. I loved the facials and want to go back for a facial and maybe a massage next time.
Would never go back for any nail treatments though.
