  • We've had a Carnegie branch here for as long as I've been alive which has moved around a bit on Brookline Boulevard. This is a really sleek, modern library, and it easily this branch's best incarnation ever. They have internet, DVD's, magazines, newspapers, CD's, a big children's section downstairs, couches to sit on, and a pretty healthy selection of books. They even have a section for "graphic novels" a.k.a. comic books, and it's in plain sight, so people must be reading them. That's a very good thing by the way. And it wasn't just superheroes either. In fact, displayed prominently was "Black Hole" by Charles Burns. Don't let your youngsters read that one until they're in high school. :D Man, if they served coffee, you could loaf here all day. I wonder if my library card is still good. Hmmm. Anyway, I really pray that this branch doesn't get cut. We've taken it for granted. I really should use it more often and not just when my internet goes kaput.
