I take by coffee by necessity... I order them when there's nothing on the menu or I have to borrow the washrooms at Timmy or McDonald. It's not a morning wake-upper for me.
I came across this place as I was shopping nearby and wanted something quick to eat before work. Alas, this is a strictly coffee place. They do coffee/tea/water/prepackaged juice only. There's some cookies available but I don't see any sandwiches here, which was what I wanted...something more substantial.
In a hurry, I picked up a gluten free almond cookie and a roasted almond latte. The staff were friendly and there were a few short bread cookie for the customers to try at the counter. These were good. The almond cookies that I got for the road was just okay. At the counter there was a sign that says they use only organic milk in their coffee...anyways so onto the coffee...oh the coffee was unexpected.
First thing I noticed was the temperature. I am so used to any hot drinks (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) to burn my tongue when it is first handed to you. Whatever it was that Balzac did, the temperature of the coffee was just right. Warm enough for the cold winter day and for you take big gulp of it from the get go. The taste was very smooth and the aroma beautiful. Basically it goes down very easily. 30 minutes later, the coffee had cooled down a little bit but the taste stay consistent to the last drop. And this is coming from someone who doesn't know coffee yet I noticed the difference.
I am worried that I am now spoiled with high quality coffee and won't be able to drink at other places!
