| - Just called to get information for my son's birthday cake. I spoke to either a manager or the owner (person answering the phone called him her "boss"). To be fair - I did have several questions, and the phone connection wasn't great. I offered to call right back from a different phone, but it was clear he didn't want to take the time for me to do that...and basically just kept talking. I did finally hear what he was saying, but I didn't understand some of the information. I'm not sure if he wasn't understanding my questions?? But the information he gave me just didn't make sense to me...didn't really answer my questions. Any time I asked for clarity, he just continued to get frustrated with me. I told him I could tell he was getting frustrated (which he certainly didn't deny:) ), and I apologized TO HIM! I asked one final question (could they do birthday writing/decoration on any cake, or just the party cakes), and he gave some snarky remark, which meant "Duh, of course we can." I thought it was a perfectly reasonable question...especially since the website pictures only showed the party cakes with decoration. Either way, no need for rudeness. I apologized again. I said "O.k., thanks," and he hung up without saying a word!!!! I bought pastries at this place several times before. I live only a few blocks away and thought it was great to have an independently run bakery in the neighborhood. Well, I won't be shopping there any more. Guess I'll go one neighborhood over to either Grahm's in Mt. Lebo or Potomac in Dormont - where the customer service is always great.
