"We don't have a box for that," the clerk told me. HUH? The store is a pack and mail place....if it was an ordinary size box I wouldn't need your services, right? I was mailing a Ukulele in a case--26 inches long. It's not like I was mailing a piano. Clerk didn't explain what the store might have, or make any move at all besides saying she couldn't help me. I asked if she had a suggestion and she sent me to the UPS store across the street...which offered to pack and ship it UPS Ground for $69. WHAT?
I know that these types of places are more expensive than going to the post office, but in exchange for the higher price I assumed you got service. So weird.
I ended up at Home Depot where for $7 I bought a 22" box (they sell moving boxes), a box cutter, and packing tape. The Ukulele fit in cross-ways and I cut the sides of the box down so I was shipping a 22" x 22" x 10" box. Then I went to the Post Office (USPS) and mailed it for $23.
