| - Recently, we went to Tailoress, to have my 13 year old daughter's grad dress slightly altered (we were told by the store, where we'd bought the dress, it shouldn't be more than $20 - $30). Anyway, the girl at Tailoress said it would cost $50 - $60, plus tax (the dress, itself, had been on sale, and cost $39.99). I called her back, after leaving the store, not feeling good about the cost, and let her know, my daughter was going to pay 1/2 of the alterations, so could we keep it at $50 + tax, (although I knew, even at that, we were paying way too much). I could tell the girl wasn't happy with my request, and said she'd speak to someone and call me back. The girl called me back, shortly after, to say, "Actually, I under-quoted you -- it should have cost more. I can do part of the alterations.". What??? Awful customer service, on all levels! I said we would pick up the dress, and go elsewhere. My husband was told, upon picking up the dress, that the alterations were more, because it was a high-quality garment. However, when we took the dress to another, expert tailor, she said - and this is without her knowing about us taking the dress somewhere else, first, AND she had pinned it exactly the same as the girl at Tailoress - "Oh, this should be no problem, at all!", and charged us $28...including tax!!
As well, another time, my husband had taken his jacket to Tailoress to have the zipper fixed. Didn't they a) Over-charge him, and b) Sew the zipper, so it now zips up on the opposite side (like a woman's jacket).
We will never go back.
