| - Beaver Choice is definitely one of the more unique spots in Tempe. I think they are moving to Mesa which is sad, but I'm sure it is attributed to their success. When I asked the owners what percentage of their business comes from Yelp, they said 95%. Holy crap.
When we walked in, we were greeted by the mom, dad, and son. I love that. After discussing the restaurant with them and the all the options we have, we put in our orders and took a seat. They warned us that the food will take a while to come out, but that was okay. They had board games in the dining room and it was fun to just chit chat about the food that we couldn't pronounce but just ordered. The family is very friendly and passionate about their business. I've never spent so much time talking to the owners of a restaurant before receiving my food.
45 minutes later (yeah.... really long time), we got our food and it was soooo good. Swedish meatballs were like nothing I've ever imagined, pork schnitzel was spot on, and I even tried poutine for the first time! We had a few other things, but I seriously couldn't pronounce them so I'm not even going to bother trying to recall and spell them--just trust me that it was to die for. Scandinavian food is very rich and complex--not something I expected before I visited here.
I'm excited to visit the new location. Normally I would be worried for a business if they made this type of a move, but honestly their Tempe location wasn't anything to shout about. It was a very odd spot and restaurant was kind of hard to find the first time.
