  • Hmmm...I'm mixed about this place. Since there were no pics on Yelp, I was a bit held aback by Tatsu's interior: mid/late 70s, brown 'n yellow theme, reminiscent of an old coffee shop. So Tatsu is more of a neighbourhood bakery than places like Monastery/San Remo. With the exception of some baked goods on a table (pictured), everything else was behind glass, re: cakes, tarts, cookies, strudel, etc. They serve Reunion Island coffee which was good. I got a Chocolate Croissant ($2.25), Apple Strudel (under $3), & coffee to-go. Croissant was a tad on the dry side, but still flaky. The pastry for the Apple Strudel had softened and the apple filling was on the sweeter side. It was alright. They did have big cookies for $1 which is fairly inexpensive. Overall, baked good were alright, nothing I'd drive out of my way for, but items that I'd pick up if I were in the area. Lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful, so that bumped up my *s! Parking: It's located in a small, dead-ish plaza, with a dozen or so spots.
