| - I love the concept behind this restaurant and I've eaten here once before and loved my experience. I suppose this is why I was so disappointed with my experience today. We were excited to find 2 open seats at the bar on a noticeably busy Saturday, however when we sat, we were met with a brisk "what can I get you guys?" from the female bartender. No "hello," "how's it going" or any other greeting of any type. We had to ask for a second menu, as we had just sat down and hadn't had the chance to even look yet. Once we did get orders in, it became immediately apparent that our bartender was either a new hire who was overwhelmed by the volume, or extremely irritated and not afraid to show it. As our visit progressed, another gal came behind the bar with her and helped wash and put away dishes. We soon learned that the original bartender must have been toward the beginning of her shift and came in to a messy or understocked bar. I know this because she and the other girl were openly (and rather loudly) discussing how upset and frustrated they were. When she came back for our food order, it was "you guys know what you want?" ... again in a very curt tone with a dismal expression. I also watched her greet other guests the same way, sans any greeting or pleasantries.
My "No Sleep til Brooklyn" shake and Boursin Burger were delicious, and toward the very end of our visit when we asked for go-to boxes, her attitude improved, and this is the only reason the rating is still a 3.
I don't like to post negative reviews, however being in a service industry, I don't appreciate going to a place to spend money and also leave a tip, just to receive sub par and unprofessional service. The vibe ruined our meal and we ended up taking over half of it home, just to clear out more quickly.
