| - The reason I give one star is because I can't give zero. Had arranged a dinner last night for three couples and anticipated a nice evening. This was destroyed by Marcellino. My wife, sitting next to me, had ordered calves liver for her entree. She was served chicken by one of the wait staff. It was sent back, only to be returned to her by our waitress, who argued that was what she had ordered (my friend sitting next to me and I both knew differently). It was finally decided, with some difficulty, that the chicken would be replaced with the liver. Imagine our surprise when she was served veal. At that point, my wife was so angry that we cancelled her dinner. The waitress and the manager apologized and even offered to serve us desert (in which none of us had any interest) without charge. We declined.
We were treated poorly and with little other than a perfunctory apology and offer of free desert. My wife left hungry and angry. My meal was indifferent but I just left angry. My friends were truly surprised by the level of service and particularly by the seeming apathy towards the repeated mistakes. I suppose I should be grateful that we were not charged for her dinner.
Obviously, we will not be back.
After posting this review, I received a response from the owner and wife of the chef inviting my wife and me to be their guests at a dinner to demonstrate their passion and commitment to fine dining.
While I appreciate the invitation, I will point out that the six people at our table all shared in the disappointment and the poor attitude of those who served us.
If the other couples are invited as guests, we will accept the invitation. Otherwise we will decline. I don't believe my wife nor I would wish to face the scowl I received from the chef when I cancelled her order without reinforcement.
