  • My favorite Vegas Mega Resort - located in the heart of the Vegas Strip. Built when themed Vegas hotels were still a thing (ahem - cold sterile City Center) this place packs a bunch of personality and spares no expense in doing so. From the beautiful exterior to all the small details inside this place is nothing less than incredible. I've been so many times and no visit to Vegas is complete unless I drop by. From the moment you step foot onto this property you will notice that is different and better than all the rest. Just enter the parking garage. Right before you get in you are greeted by security and asked to pop your trunk. This isn't just some free for all where you can just walk in like Walmart - rather this is like a Costco where your checked by the door for admittance. I like that and it adds to security. I noticed other properties do the same but only on New Years eve - Barbary Coast comes to mind where they inspect your car - even with mirrors to check the undercarriage. You can never be too safe these days. I particularly enjoy one of the hostess at the Buffet. She has been there since day one back in 1998 and it always puts a smile on my face to see her there. Looks like she never misses a day of work. I don't like the addition of the new tower that was completed in 2005. Its an eyesore but I guess its set back far enough that it shouldn't be an issue. I would have preferred they name it a different name and painted it a different color. Such a shame the sweeping double staircase was sacrificed for this addition... but business is business. Casino is beautiful. Ceilings and light fixtures... walkways - all just as beautiful as can be. Some casinos look like warehouses - no this one... rather a work of art. Standard rooms are small but of high quality. Power shades and lots and lots of comfort and pillows. Good thing they have turn down service - moving all those pillows and opening up the bed is hard work. Other resorts might be newer but in my book none beat Bellagio and all the elegance and good vibes it has to offer.
