| - I will preface this review with, when you go to a professional sporting event, you know what you're going to get-expensive food, even more expensive drinks, and yes, some cramped seating. That is the same at any stadium so let's put those aspects, which would typically call for a reduction in stars, aside. Let's start with why PNC is consistently named one of the best ballparks in the country-the open end of the stadium revealing the Pittsburgh skyline in it's full glory! It's beautiful, particularly when it's Fireworks night, as it was this past Saturday. I always make sure to sit along the third base side so I have a great view of the city during the game. Seats are, generally speaking, relatively inexpensive. I typically sit in one of the lower rows in a 120s section and tickets are no more than $45 or $50. The beer selection certainly beats most other MLB stadiums I have visited and the price is as fair as any as well. The food options are plentiful (sushi, BBQ, burgers, hot dogs, wings), and for two people, the cost would be similar to dining at a chain restaurant, say Chilis or Applebees. For example, my bf and I ordered 2 BBQ pork sandwiches from Manny's and a liter of water, which came to $23. Yeah, I'd expect more at a restaurant in the amount of food, but, again, if you don't want to spend any money, you are better off finding another form of entertainment other than an MLB game. It's cool they have regular fireworks nights as well as Skyblast when a band plays AND there are fireworks (however, they really need to upgrade both the bands they have scheduled and the music they shoot the fireworks off to on non-Skyblast nights. Not everyone in Pittsburgh loves country *hint, hint*) Also a tip, park at the casino (FOR FREE!) and either walk back after the game or take the T one stop back to the garage.
