| - Although I enjoyed Mat on AGT, I had tempered expectations for this show as you never quite know how a performer will translate from small TV segments to their own 90 minute show. Well, I was blown away by how much fun I had here. Mat is a solid magician, no doubt, with good sleight of hand skills and fun twists on tricks you may have seen before. What made this so enjoyable for me, though, was Mat's personality and command of the audience. His relaxed, easy-going charm was effortless and his jokes always landed. He had the audience (myself included) eating out of the palm of his hand.
I also loved how Mat made his show personal and honest, including stories about his family and his time growing up. The Linq Theatre is a relatively intimate showroom that allowed a real connection to form between Mat and the audience.
This isn't the splashiest magic show in Vegas - there are few big props, no costumes or showgirls - but this is joyous, quality magic with a modern charm. As a final note, I splurged on the VIP package which means I got to meet Mat after the show. He signed a deck of cards for me and posed for a photo; he was as friendly and kind as one would hope/expect.
