  • This is one of my favorite places to eat when I come to Phoenix. I get weary of reading reviews taking shots at restaurants for not serving "real Chinese food." The standard is going to be different wherever anybody goes. Chinese food here is not going to be the same in California and California Chinese food will not be the same as in any of the many cities in China. They are all different among the various regions of that country as well. I am a Chinese-American and my parents are from China. We all enjoy Tao Garden. The Peking Duck, Ma Po Tofu and Short Ribs in Black Pepper Sauce are my favorites. The service is good, although it could be improved. I've seen the waiters walk away before customers are finished with instructions for their orders several times there. The restroom does smell bad as somebody else pointed out. I think it's due to the floor drain in the middle of the restroom. Sure, they could improve somethings but I go there for one reason and that is to enjoy a good meal. I've never had a bad meal at this place and have always thoroughly enjoyed my Peking duck.
