  • I am glad I finally experienced the Minus 5 Ice Lounge after hearing so much about it! I went on a Saturday around 6pm and it wasn't too busy when we first got into the lounge, but it was definitely busy as we left! We had a couple drinks and stayed for an hour or so. It was $22 for the entrance and a regular parka coat. If you wanted to go in feeling like an extra in the Macklemore "Thrift Shop" music video, you'd have to pay more for their fur coats! They provide you with a pair of gloves (just the $1 cheapies you can get at Walmart) as well, but I also wish they provided socks because my toes felt like they were going to fall off. Unfortunately, only some of the parkas had pockets... the others were zipped shut. I got stuck with one of the jackets without pockets so I couldn't keep my hands warmer than what the gloves could do. DO NOT wear sandals! Or if you must, go to the sock store a couple doors down and get some socks. to put over your toes or your feet will hurt and burn for an hour after! Before you enter you must leave all electronics at the door, so yes, that means no photos inside. Which is unfortunate, because there are ice sculptures and a really fun giant chair that would make for a great photo op! They do take one group photo before you go in, and they text it to your phone number, but we all wanted photos of us in the actual ice lounge! Of course they do have a photographer who goes around taking your photo that you can get a copy of at the end for a hefty price. They have a variety of cocktails which all followed the lounge's theme. We could all tell that the bartender was about to be off because she seemed very irritated when we were all ordering drinks. However, after she left, the bartender who replaced her was much more pleasant! One of the more expensive package options at the front includes two drinks. Because we didn't get this option, the bartender had to open a tab for us. Once you open a tab in the lounge, you must also close the tab in the lounge before you leave or else you will be asked to go back in to close your tab (we all played "no-nose-goes" to see who would have to go back in the cold) The cups are all made of ice which is really fun! My group and I all had a couple cocktails and by the end of it, we were ready to leave because our feet were so cold! The parkas did a good job at keeping us warm, but I seriously wish I had some socks. Overall it was a good experience and I wouldn't mind going back, but next time I will be more prepared for the cold!
