| - I love that Las Vegas is evolving with wonderful establishments that focus on eateries, shopping, and family activities. Combine that with a wonderful recycling project and everyone feels great.
A fantastic idea to repurpose large containers and transform them into a park for all to enjoy. From the entrance complete with Burning Man's Flaming Mantis and container "Downtown Container Park" sign, you immediately feel welcome and whimsical. In the center of the park is a giant tree house playground and other activities for children. Surrounding it are two-story containers filled with various boutiques, candy shops, restaurants, and bars. In the back of the park is a barber shop train with a performing stage and large play area for children with several seating options for parents. The Lounge Orphans were performing at the time of our visit and they were really great!
We didn't eat or shop, so not much to say except that they're all very small. Seems to be an issue when the park is really crowded like it was on this Saturday afternoon. Other than that, I love the space: the live music, the beautiful weather, the fun atmosphere with balloon animals and face painting.
Access is from Fremont Street and it was simple enough to find street parking nearby. We are a fan of the parking meters since it takes credit cards. It is enforced Monday-Saturday 8am-6pm, not including holidays. The cost is $1/hour for a maximum of two hours.
