Just bought our family's 5th car in 15 years at Airpark. We've been going to Airpark since it was Ed Moses Dodge. This one is a Jeep Cherokee Sport (traded in the pre-owned Mustang I bought at Airpark in 2011). I worked with Fred Nielsen as my sales associate, Robert Pitman from Internet sales and Ben Smith in finance. I guess the reasons we keep going back there are 1. They make you feel like you are a welcome client (you could learn something from them Autonation Ford on FLW); 2. Feel like we get a fair deal - they're not giving it away but don't feel like we are getting ripped off either (again Autonation Ford you could learn something) and 3. We feel like we he been treated fairly and honestly by the service dept (wife's Grand Caravan from Airpark has 105k miles so we've been to service once or twice).
It's probably obvious from the review that I wasn't pleased with my experience at Autonation Ford on FLW. I was all set to buy a Fusion Hybrid before even looking at the Jeep except the finance guy at Autonation Ford was a complete jerk to both me and the couple sitting at the table next to me. The sales guy lied to me about dealer add-ons and claimed there weren't any when they were right there in the estimate. That's what caused me to look elsewhere.
I'm really, really happy with both my new car (although admittedly I've only had it for a couple hours) and the sales experience. I didn't feel like there was any game playing. There was the usual back and forth negotiating, which is fine, but none of that patronizing BS you often get (there was none of the "you're really going to walk away from the car for $10 extra dollars a month" standard car sales BS) I felt like I got a fair deal for the vehicle as confirmed by Edmunds and True Car.
I would recommend them to both friends and family..
UPDATE: 5 days later I realize that I left stuff in the seatback pocket of the car I traded in. I went back to the dealership, the car was still on the lot and I could see my stuff in the pocket. Bo in sales, who wasn't even my sales person, spent 30 minutes tracking down they keys and walking me to my car. There was something really important there so. Was very appreciative. That type of extra assistance is why I like Airpark.
UPDATE: 6 Months into the Jeep and the transmission/powertrain on the vehicle is HORRIBLE. It's been completely replaced once under warranty and recalled once for a transmission and powertrain software update. There is what feels to be a way to long lag between the time you step on the gas and the engine actually doing anything. Not so bad when stopped at a red light, but when your trying to make a left turn across traffic and you are counting on the car to move when you hit the gas - it can get a little harrowing when the car doesn't respond as quickly as you would normally expect. The car has enough power when you're accelerating and at highway speed - it just not responsive, though, when you press on the accelerator when starting from a complete stop. I just rented a 2015 Chrysler 200 for a week and it had the same issues. I would stay far away from Fiat/Chrysler products (sorry Airpark) until they get their transmission/powertrain figured out.
UPDATE 10/21: time to replace my wife's Grand Caravan. Went to talk to a sales person and ended up talking to Ben Smith again. All that game playing I didn't experience last time...had the (dis)pleasure of experiencing it this time. Advertised price on Internet for van we were looking at had a $2575 dealer discount but the first deal sheet they brought us only had $1000 dealer discount. But Bo, our salesman, assured us he would get his finance manager to increase that by another $1000. That would still be $500 below the advertised discount, leaving us to negotiate just to get the full advertised discount. What's with that? Is that bait and switch - advertising a discount and not offering it to the consumer at the point of sale? Regardless of whether it's bait and switch or not, it's game playing and caused us to go to another dealership where we bought a car on Sunday. I can no longer recommend Airpark after my experience on Saturday.
