Downgrading from my earlier 5-star review. I've been to 4 or 5 shows here now. I notice that when I'm here the pushing and shoving on the dance floor as people pack in and try to move around is much worse than other venues in town. I think the problem is the layout. The dance floor is not deep due to the prime space given to the VIP area. So you need to choose (A) a place where you won't get constantly pushed around but with bad sight-lines and out of the central PA field, or (B) a spot where the show looks and sounds great but where you'll constantly be shoved, spilled on, encroached upon, etc.
Another thing I've noticed: even the major international producers they bring in come without much or anything by way of tech. A $20-30 EDM show at Orpheum (and soon, I'm sure, the Sylvee) is a tour that generally brings impressive video and lighting. Here at Liquid (likely due to the smaller capacity) I think the dj shows up with a jump drive, maybe a couple video panels, and otherwise use all house equipment.
