  • Every skier and snowboarder in Montreal knows Poubelle du Ski. While the name suggests that it is only a ski shop it covers most winter sports. Here you'll find everything you need for a fun-filled winter on the slopes as a skier and a snowboarder. You'll also find what you need for other sports like hockey and snowshoeing. It's a no frills kind of place that can be cramped and chaotic at times but it is definitely worth the visit. They have a mix of used and new gear so you can score some good deals if you're willing to buy used. If you're looking to start a sport like skiing and aren't sure if you want to invest in the equipment just yet then you can rent it from them for the season and you have the option of buying it or returning it when winter comes to a close. As for clothes they have a mix of stock from the previous season and this year's line so once again it is easy to score deals. You can also get your gear tuned up. I brought my skis for a sharpening and waxing which cost me $29 (which is a reasonable price for that service). The skis were also ready to go in about 20 minutes which is much appreciated because some stores don't have enough ski technicians on hand so you have to drop them off and come back later and get them. Poubelle du Ski has a whole team ready to do tune ups so the process is super speedy. Whether you're toying with the idea of getting into skiing or a veteran skier you should definitely come here for all your gear needs. Chances are you're likely to find what you're looking for.
