I recently hosted my wedding reception at the CopperWynd. I will write a separate review for the food from Alchemy (which was great). I worked with Lynn Leas and she was very accommodating in the planning process. We were able to negotiate a great rate for a summer wedding, when the CopperWynd is usually not very busy. Having the reception indoors, instead of on their event lawn, was still a stunning experience. I grew up here, but moved away, and so this was a semi-destination wedding. Planning from afar worked really well with Lynn who was available via email and over the phone. My only complaint is that it was difficult to get a list of guests staying at the CopperWynd. I got one when I went in person, but for some reason it never came through over email. Lynn was very flexible when we were sorting out seating arrangements and accommodating the handmade elements of the wedding reception. There was a small misunderstanding about wine service during dinner, but the staff quickly addressed it. Their response more than made up for the initial confusion.
All my guests mentioned how great the hotel was and how helpful the staff was. They handed out welcome bags to all the guests staying at the hotel and were very accommodating and helpful at all times. People saw javelinas and bull frogs, making the long drive out to the site worth it. Some guests even extended their stay in Phoenix to be able to stay at the hotel longer! They had the Barista bar open during the wedding, but it was closed during the week because it was summer. The view is simply stunning and really shows off the Sonoran desert to great advantage. I would have my wedding reception here again in a heartbeat.
