| - I ordered two things online for pickup in the store and spent around 40 minutes inside.
Seriously.
The ordering process online was perfectly fine. They have text messaging available to tell you when your order is pulled and available for pickup, so I was under the belief that it would be a fairly straight-forward situation. I ordered two gifts on Friday morning, got the confirmation for one about an hour after and the second wasn't ready until around 7 pm. I decided to wait until Saturday morning to pick them up because I figured that Black Friday would be a bit crazy in there.
I arrived Saturday morning, with my card and ID as the text message states, and they told me they didn't need my card. They just needed the order number. Uh, okay? I give them my phone that has the order numbers and I was asked if I was told that the items were ready. I explained that I was and that's actually the confirmation that's in their hand. They start to look for the items, but there's no rhyme or reason to any of this. Or there doesn't seem to be. There's no alphabetization, no general item grouping, no departments, nothing. Just shelves and shelves of online orders, haphazardly stacked. So I basically get to just watch these workers comb through all these shelves, while attempting to help other customers at the same time and still come up empty. After about 15 minutes, they found the first one. The second one took about 20 more minutes. Then I had to sign the paperwork and whatnot.
I get it. It's the holidays or whatever. I seriously do. And I don't blame the actual staff that was trying to help me because I know it's not their fault or whatnot, but somebody seriously needs to work on the organization for pick-up orders. It's a huge time suck masquerading as a time saver.
