| - I will never fly Spirit airlines again. After paying your fare, you must also pay a separate fee for your seat. If you are unable to print you ticket from the website (which you most likely will not be able to do, due to their servers being unreliable), you will have to pay $10 to print your ticket. Yes, they have a $10 printing fee.
Once checked in, you will have to check your carry on size; normal carry on bags are too large. My bag was one inch over their reduced size so I was informed I must pay $55 to check the bag. I did not have a credit card on me and they won't accept payment by phone....so I was instructed to "dispose" of my bag, yes, that's right, I was instructed to just throw my bag away. Keep in mind airport security does not allow you to just throw your luggage away in the airport.
I called their customer support line and waited on hold for 1.5 hours, to receive no real help other than to have a human robotically recite corporate policy.
All in all, after paying the fare, seating fee, ticket printing fee, and carry-on luggage fee, I paid more than I would have with Delta, American, and Alaska. Don't waste your time and money flying Spirit, it's nothing more than highway robbery on board a cattle car.
