After all the hype, this place was a pretty big letdown. The ambiance is pretty cliche 'strip mall asian' restaurant. My friend and I shared the chicken lettuce wraps which were good, but nothing to write home about. For our entrees, my friend got the pad see-ew and I got the pad guey teow, both with shrimp. We both are not spicy food eaters so we went with the minimal spice level on both meals. Apparently no spice means no flavor at all! Both entrees were extremely bland, to the point where we had to ask for salt, pepper, and some spicy sauce to give it some flavor. The pad guey teow had a fishy taste to it. Not sure if this is because a couple of the shrimp hadn't been de-veined and cooked in with it, but it was rather foul tasting. I am puzzled by all of the wonderful reviews because not one of our plates were worth the money or even the meal. Save your time and go to Basil.
