  • I right this as I scarf down the remaining portion of my chicken bulgogi fusion chimichanga, so forgive me if I get side tracked. There is not much more to say other than what all the reviews rave about. So for the sake of time and the purpose of being original, I will try to talk about other things that I enjoy about my experience. It has been nearly a year since I returned from my first visit. Its not that it wasn't good. I guess that I was over the Korean-Mexican fusion having gotten my fill in Seattle, LA, Hawaii and let's not forget...home sweet home. That's right I said it, as much as I eat out, me and the old lady can get pretty cray in the kitchen, no not like that... Last time I mashed on a bulgogi burrito, it was all around good....cheap, huge, tasty, but nothing special. It's hard to find good bulgogi and there are so many versions and styles in Korean cuisine, just take a look at the millions of kim chee out there. So when I grind bulgogi, I like to factor in the seasoning as well as the cut of beef (sirloin, ribeye, etc.). The bulgogi here is good but not great, for my preference. It tastes more pan cooked versus grilled. Again, this could be different for others and I know that if I educate myself more on Korean food, I may have an expanded perspective on it. This time I went with the chicken bulgogi chimichanga. No regrets whatsoever! Again, it was cheap, huge and tasty...but this time, I got a better experience. Perhaps its because I have tried bulgogi burritos many times, but this is definitely a first on the Shimmy shimmy ya, shimmy yam, shimmy yay (R.I.P. ODB). That is what my tongue screams with each bite lol. It amazes me how they could even fit all the fillings in the plate sized changa! Gotta get the house sauce too...fresh and flavorful! It took me two sittings to kill this bad boy...the second commencing as we speak. If yall don't know changas are fried compared to a burrito, so if this sucka was fried after being filled, nice job. The dish was not greasy nor were the insides over cooked or tasted fried in any way. Most Korean dishes, or Oriental dishes for that matter (Notice i refrained from saying Asian on purpose...there is a difference), or pretty lean and on the healthy side. This is a miraculous piece of work combining what you would think is normally bad for you...into something that is not only more on the healthy side, but delish! Although, I can't say that slamming over a pound of anything is healthy. I only wish that Kalbi was an option in each of the dishes, unless it is and I am just not up on my Komex game. Last I seen, it was available as specials only. Well the hype is there...more so because Komex has got the game on lock and monopolized in LV, IMO. Wonder if this would be the case if competitors came through...that may alleviate the double parking and constantly packed dining room, all for good reason though.
