  • I love Ulta! I'm a platinum rewards member and I go in for all my cosmetic needs. One of my favorite things about it is the fact that you can try anything out... and if you don't like it, you can return it. In my mind that seems like Nordstrom-quality customer service. The last few visits to this location have been really rough especially today's! Less then a week ago I purchased a tarte shape tape concealer and was really reluctant about the purchase. No one was around to help me find the right color and when I mentioned that to the girl at the check out counter she assured me that I could return it, if it was the wrong shade. She even added that I didn't need to bring my receipt because they have it on record on my rewards program. Low and behold I needed to get a different color. I tried three times to see if I could get that color to work. It was just too light. I confidently went back in without a receipt and found a much better color for me. The girl at the check out counter seemed new and needed help from the manager. The manager was extremely annoyed with the fact that I had "tried" the concealer but continued to show the girl how to do a return and repurchase. The clerk said, "you owe $5.24" I was confused about owing money since I was exchanging the exact same product. But then I realized I had used my 20% off coupon. I nicely asked if I could still get it for the same price since I can't get my coupon back. The manager walked over, sighed and rolled her eyes. After typing in a code she looked up at me switched on a totally fake grin and said "there ya go" with such attitude. I thought I was talking to the flight attendant in Meet The Parents. I would have been fine if they just nicely said no... but I felt shamed. She stared me down all the way out the door. Bad service!! After reading some of the other comments I realize this is getting to be a trend. I think I'll find another location to go to. Ulta is awesome just not this one.
