  • Kinda plain and average, but decent. We were here last weekend for an event. This is not a hotel we would have typically chosen, but most of the group was staying here so we did, as well. The lobby is nice enough and the check in process was fairly quick. Our room wasn't ready so we headed to the upstairs bar. We were told there is a guarantee check in time of 4 pm so we had a couple of hours to kill. They promised to call us when ready. After a drink at the lobby bar, we ventured down King St. for a little walk. It was nearing 4 pm so we headed back to the hotel. Still no call, so we headed down to the downstairs bar and ordered some snacks and drinks. At 4:45 pm we finally wandered upstairs and asked about our room. They had apparently just forgotten to call us and made up for it with free wi-fi. Cool. Our room was pretty plain and overlooked the pool. The bathroom was small and the bed was lumpy, small, and uncomfortable. I am pretty sure we paid for a King bed, but that definitely was not a King bed. Each day we were only given 2 bath towels and the toilet paper was only refilled IF the toilet paper was completely gone. One day there was like 10 sheets left on the role and they didn't replace it or leave another one for the next 24 hours. Not sure if that is an green/eco thing, but that definitely was frustrating. Two of the bartenders were super nice and accomodating to our group and gave us MANY suggestions for the week on places to go and eat, etc. I can't recall their names, but they definitely deserve some gold stars as they were the big positives to our stay...and the reason this review is 3 starts instead of 2. The female was of Caribbean descent and the male was of slight build with silver hair. I probably wouldn't suggest this hotel to someone visiting Toronto, but I would definitely suggest you stop in the bar one night to have a drink or two.
