  • Horne Kia has the worst service I have ever experienced. I would give 0 stars for the service department if possible. I purchased my 2nd KIA vehicle early 2012 (Sportage) which I enjoyed until I started having issues which was almost immediately and related to the transmission and possibly torque converter which was later mentioned. These issues started early in and came up each time I brought the vehicle in for an oil change to a KIA dealership. They were never able to duplicate the concern and did not care how dangerous it was for me and my family or that I had witness's who could let them know I was not crazy. I urged them to call KIA and check on the issue each time and was more insistent once I was almost T-boned trying to take off from a stop sign when my car went out of gear and stalled. When dealing with Horne KIA they first punctured my tire and blamed me. I was told their was a nail and became concerned but thought it was off my sensor didn't go off and figured it was where I would not have seen it as I inspect my car daily and even watched them take it away seeing my black tires roll off. When taken back I was shown a 50 cent sized grey circle on my tire and informed it was leaking which later was shown to trigger my censor and dash symbol. They also tested my vehicle this time with a District Manager and said they took it half as far as requested and again could not duplicate. I took the manager for a ride then and finally confirmed the concern with him 3 times as my car slipped out of gear. After trying to discuss my tire and it being shrugged off then seeing the issue for himself the manager became rude and tried checking for a code again. I was previously told a loner could not be provided unless the issue was verified and that they only offered a 10 mile limit shuttle service which is a minimum mile and a half short of my home driving. Since I was able to verify the issue I asked for a loner and was rudely told no and that he would only allow me to use the shuttle. My car is still unable to be fully diagnosed and after no call or information yesterday (day 2 with car at Horne) I was called today (day 3) and told they talked to KIA techs and were going to check 3 pins out and then maybe try swapping the transmission out so I could see if that works which still leaves me in possible risk. When I asked to speak with someone else I was yelled at and then called back by the manager who previously treated me poorly. When explaining things to the manager I was met with hostility and told they would stop looking into my car and refused to work on it. I have now been stranded a few days at home after having to bother my family for help getting home as I could not get home by shuttle or receive a loaner and have no funds to pay for my own after personal issues. I am waiting now for family to once again have to help so I can get my car which is defective and has a punctured tire so I can take it elsewhere and get services preformed with hopefully good customer service and communications. The cooperate offices have been trying to help but due to the privately owned business (Horne) can only do so much to assist me and have had to escalate my case to Regional offices for further assistance. After owning my 2008 Optima and seeing my family and friends own around 20 or more KIA vehicles I do not hold KIA responsible for this whole thing but wish they could do more to ensure they have good representatives at the dealerships selling the vehicles they make. I only hope they can fix the problem soon or replace my defective vehicle with another which I would have no problem or fear accepting. I do advise against going to Horne KIA but recommend purchasing a KIA vehicle elsewhere as for the most part they are great and just make sure you know what you are buying and enjoy it with care. EDIT: After talking with cooperate my vehicle was setup to be towed to Mark KIA in Scottsdale as the service manager for Horne did not wish to help and the district manager for KIA recommended Mark over the slightly closer Tempe location. I did speak with a General Manager of Horne and was put off with his slightly rude behavior and failure to accept his people's mistake and not really seeming to understand my frustration after such poor customer service and treatment but he did offer to cover my tire which made up somewhat and made the 1 star given deserved as I wished to give them 0 earlier. I also found the district Manager to be a bad representation of a good Mormon man as he seemed to show off his being part of the church and an "educated" person with a degree from BYU. It goes to show not all can take the Biblical teachings into their business and daily lives. I wish he could have done more to recognize the failure of his service department and hope the business makes some changes for the better. I was informed and found that many KIA owners have left to make a longer drive for better service with other locations.
