| - There is so much to say about what we experienced with this person. We were happy at first as he presents well. He told us what to charge for rent as we were out of state, it was too low and we got 12 applications the first day. He rented the house immediately and said they were great people, with good credit etc. That same week before the place was rented, we told him that things had changed for us, that we were coming to NC immediately, and to ask the people if they wanted to rent for only a year, as we were going to move in after one year then and we would have to rent an apartment, if they stayed. He said he did talk to them, and they wanted to stay anyway. Then, we didn't see the rent for several months. Apparently, he has a friend who does handyman tasks and goes around asking the tenants for things to do. Finally, I called to see why the rent wasn't paid, and this handyman, who was supposed to fix a couple of holes in our siding, re-did a 12'x12' chunk for almost $2000. According to the contract, Mike was supposed to ask us about ANY repairs over $250 and he didn't. So we sucked that up since it was already done, but then the guy kept going over and asking the residents if they had stuff to fix, keeping a bunch of small tasks to under $200 a pop.
We spoke to Mike about these issues and he agreed that we should take over ourselves.
This was just the beginning, the people were never told that they were only going to be able to stay 1 year, as Mike never told them. They always paid their rent at the grace period expiration date and a few times after that, arguing that they had mailed it before and it wasn't their fault the PO delivered it a week late. Three months before their lease was up, they didn't pay their rent at all, and when I called, they said they'd pay at Christmas. Well, on Christmas Eve they ran out on the rent for December, and the lease up until March. On top of that, they trashed the house and stole a few decorative items and patio furniture that were on the property. We then found out they had done this before and also had bad credit. Mike was so happy to get someone in the house for his cut, that he didn't care what or who he placed in there. When I called to talk to him about it and see if he had found them another place, he told me he had better things to do than talk to me, and he hung up on me. I guess he only gives this good service if he's making a bunch of money off of you.
