Every IKEA is a pretty good experience, except when you have to face a jerk-faced employee:
One unfriendly worker refused to help my mom & sister load a heavy box. I know this store concept is self-service, but to what extent?
I was worried because my 60 year old mom could break her back trying to load that heavy box. We are petite Asian women and sometimes that sucks. Having all three of us to lift a box is what works. But I was stuck with an overloaded cart that was too slow and heavy to lug all the way over to where my mom and sister went. It was all just for that last box. And when he refused to help, I asked him to watch the overloaded cart at the least. Guy gave me some bull excuse, even though he's standing there ripping some packages out of some plastic, telling me that someone would "clear it up." Jerk. Not like your restocking situation is every in dire need with all these heavy products.
I was really angry and waiting a few minutes by him in silence with the most sour face I could make to at least make him feel awkward. Thankfully the two came back triumphant with that heavy box by itself in the cart. But if something had really happened, shame on you, mister!
I mean, I hear stories of loaders helping you and customers tipping them. Come on, who doesn't want tips? Well, at least I know how to give the next rude IKEA worker my piece of mind. Or bribe them.
