| - I just had surgery 1 week ago on 2/4/16 and I would recommend LVI to anyone! They did a great job and I can already see the improvement in my sight. I had the PRK surgery which takes a bit longer to see improvement, but the recovery has been ok. Just a warning the first 2-4 days of recovery with PRK sucks! It is like a burning stinging sensation that you can't get rid of, but by day 3, I was doing quite well and now I am seeing fine!
If you are paying out of pocket, purchase the Groupon!!!! They raised the price on the Groupon from what I paid in December of 2015 but it is still worth it. Also be prepared to pay on top of the Groupon price prior to your surgery about $1400 possibly. They have a lifetime warranty that is recommended which costs $500 per eye so $1000 extra on top of the Groupon and if you have to get the eye plugs, they are an additional $400 depending on what kind you choose. They collect the payment the day of surgery unless you make another arrangement and they do take CARE Credit.
Being honest, I would dock if possible 1/2 star literally because of the wait time It is terrible! The initial consultation was over 3 hours long, but not due to exams, it was due to wait time between exams/consultations. Surgery day went well, though. They do warn you it will be 3 - 4 hours, but my frustration is that the 3 hours is mostly wait time. They have a few exams they have to do in addition to dilating your eyes and between some of the tests, I was just waiting to be seen for long periods of time which added up to about 3 hours. The surgery day was about an hour or so in length which included doing some paperwork, a final exam and completion of my payment. The surgery itself was only10 min. My follow-ups have been pretty quick also. It is just the initial consultation that can be very frustrating to just wait around for several hours to be seen.
