Stood in line (if you can call it that) - one person in front of me. Three employees behind the counter. Waiting... waiting... waiting... ... ... waiting. The person ahead of me ordered one (1) coffee drink. Their transaction was complete. Three employees behind the counter still. I'm still waiting... waiting... waiting... & waiting. At this point I'm about to say fuck it & walk out.
Suddenly one of the three employees sees me & offers a lame excuse (thought I was with the person ahead of me, who only ordered one drink). In all, I was waiting just about 7 minutes at this point. So the ordering & transaction were fairly normal until I went to pay. Apparently, they're not taking debit - a generally accepted currency these days at most normal low to moderate volume businesses. They do take credit however (cuz I want to pay interest on a cup of coffee for the next two years). Luckily, I had cash. Unluckily, Barriques did not. I got a few fives & a shit ton of quarters back for change. I was offered an apology, but I didn't accept it. I won't be going back. I believe, for one cup of coffee, I waited over 10 minutes. Unacceptable.
The coffee was terrible. My wife & I are coffee fanatics - so we know what's good. This tasted like the nasty drip coffee at her 90-year-old parents' place.
Starbucks in Monona never failed me, so I will gladly drive to a place, where even when there's a huge line - I'm served faster than when there's one person ahead of me at Barriques.
