| - On a recent tour of Lake Norman area breweries, D9 was our third and final stop along I-77, right behind Primal and Bayne. We had plans to hit Ass Clown too but time got away from us... Next time!
The brewery is in an odd industrial complex, which I have to admit, feels a little weird. As we pulled in, I was convinced my GPS had taken me to the wrong spot until we spotted corn hole boards out front among the other nondescript business fronts. Bingo! Luckily, once inside the rustic (lots of handsome wood and dark leather clinches) tap room, you pretty quickly forget your surroundings.
I ordered a small batch beer, the Cinnamon Session Brown Ale. It wasn't awful but had a few sour notes that I didn't love. Ted had the small batch Red IPA that he, "absolutely loved; it was AWESOME!" So again, we're conflicted on our rating. Typical. ;)
If we were a little closer to Cornelius, I think we'd visit often. They're definitely worth a stop before/after lake days though! And, I'll be sure to hunt them down at local beer fests.
