  • Not that you probably have any choice as to where you go, but the customer service here is deplorable. Left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. I've been there twice to get my immigrant husband a SSN and was given incorrect information the first time and the second time, was accused of lying about what I'd heard the first time. This was not a case of me being unprepared or not "having my crap ready." I am just so tired of waiting around on those horribly uncomfortable chairs for 2 hours, while they have a whopping 5 of 18 windows open, just to be told that I have to come back next week. fwiw the woman at window 6 was very nice and helpful even if she didn't know what she was talking about. Cross your fingers and pray you don't get that rude mess at window 17; she refused to even entertain the idea that she *could* help us.
