| - I came here today Oct 23, 2017, because another Yelper who gave Gemtime Watch and Jewelry Service down the street a poor review because they wanted $20 for a watch battery, told me about Estate Watch. He wrote that he got a battery replaced for $10 for same watch, but did not tell where. I wrote him and he referred me to Estate Watch to me for getting a watch battery for $10. I took my watch to Gemtime first, they wanted $15 to do my watch battery, which has 2 screws to remove the back (easier to remove, I guess). Otherwise, from the reviews, Gemtime seems to charge $20 for watch battery.
I am picky about where I get my battery for THIS watch because there is only one place where you can buy it, on the island of Capri, Italy, If you take 30 min boat to the mainland, you cannot buy this "Capri Watch" already. Five-year warranty said if you open the back, the warranty is void, so OK how do you change the battery without shipping to Capri. Company said they will still honor the warranty if I take it to a reputable watch company who knows what they are doing. They said warranty is void, because someone took to a place to get watch battery and they did not seal it right, so it leaked and ruined the watch. Being that this company has been in business with same owner for 20 years, longtime employees, and has great Yelp reviews with name "Estate Watch", I think it is good enough for my Capri warranty. I was given a very formal receipt for their service for me to keep in my watch box.
It has been several weeks since I got the battery on watch I wear every day, and got wet several times, and everything works great.
