  • Definitely 5 stars! My wife and I recently moved to Madison from a small town, and one of the concerns I had was finding a repair shop I could trust. As a former mechanic, I understand cars, so I know if someone is BSing me. The team at Terry's is honest. I also understand the business, and how you just can't please some people. This is why I recommend that you read through any negative reviews carefully. Most of the time, people are upset because they did not expect the problem to be what it was. Perhaps is was more expensive to repair than they were expecting. Perhaps they have a "buddy" who told them he/she could do it for less. Terry's Auto does NOT overcharge. Everyone needs to make a living, and people do have families and lives outside of work. Their prices are fair, and their work is quality. They are very clear on what needs to be fixed and how much it will cost. I appreciate this. I've had some complicated issues fixed (flashing dash lights on my Subaru, which I won't touch!), as well as routine maintenance. During a routine check, they will call you and inform you of any problems they found, as well as let you know that at xx miles, your car may be due for some service. This is NOT a selling gimmick! They are trying to provide the service that the manufacturer recommends. They actually READ the manufacturers manual. If you tell them not to fix it, they accept that and move on. For example, in each of my last few oil changes, they found the same bad marker light and offered to replace it. Each time I said no, because I would do it myself. Each time they accepted that. Well, I didn't fix it :).. so finally at my last oil change I said go ahead and fix it. Will and Don are a pleasure to talk to, as they not only explain the issue, but listen to you. I believe that I found my "small town" repair shop inside of Madison. It is like the repair shops I used to know. Jeff
