  • Alright, it's Maddi again with yet ANOTHER review. Now, my review is a little different. Meaning, I used to be employed with Skechers when they first opened. They had a mass hiring online for associates during that time to work at the NEW location on Flamingo and Maryland (I believe it was 2009-2010). I previously worked for Payless shoes for 7+ years. (AND NO, I'M NOT THAT OLD! LOL) Anyway, I thought Skechers would be a change for my supervisory retail career. O M G! What did I get myself into...????? BAD BAD company to work for. The manager at the time was (Jose) he was fired for dealing drugs in the parking lot during work. The District Manager (Maggie), I don't know where they found her but, ughhh terrible woman, it was like they were picking "favorites" before the store even opened. There were other associates from other stores making very rude and snide comments to the 'new' associates, it was ridiculous, I STILL remember most of their attitudes and unprofessionalism. At the time, the discounts were AWESOME, the associates received a FREE pair of shape-ups, a 40% off discount on regular priced items, the clearance section. NOW THAT PART WAS GOOD. OMG, let me tell you that was one of the things cool about working there, AND my paycheck of course and I met a couple of friends whom I still talk to :-). So, one day when Jose, announced the CEO was in-town and he was going to visit the store, of course everyone went into a panic. I'm like, I know how visits go, so ok whatever. It was Bob Greenburg, I even looked up his pic on google just to make sure and yep, it's him alright! They pulled up in a black limo unmarked with the name of the hotel he was staying at, his chauffeur was standing outside of the entry way, there was some younger woman with him, I believe she worked for skechers in Huntington Beach, CA. Bob had on a jeans and a t-shirt, casual, a grumpy look on his face. Oh, and another thing, managers (Jose), assistant manager (Christina) DO NOT respect the full/part-time associates. If you were not of management, they treated you like crap. When I met Bob, I spoke to him, he gave me this dirty look, he didn't speak back, and when he saw Christina (the assistant manager) he walked right past me and in a running motion to shake her hand...MY OH MY...typical of a BIG wig attitude. It's like just stay in your fancy office, sitting in your leather chair, prop your feet up and smoke your cigar...SHEESH!!!! The only person that had a good attitude was Adrian and he STILL works there! I go into Skechers to shop from time-to-time, ALL NEW STAFF AND CREW. I guess they finally woke up! LOL But, all in all I was so glad that I parted ways with Skechers. I could go on and on but I will end it here. I know my experience was rough and tough, but it's a JOB for teenagers, not college degree professionals such as myself. The shoes are awesome, but being employed there...HA! Just reference the above info. --Maddi
