My coworkers and I came in here for lunch today. We got in at about noon... It was busy but not overly crowded for it being prime lunch hour.
I ordered the Number 45 (caprese sandwich) and they both had the turkey, bacon, avocado. All sandwiches come with a side of either potato salad, chickpea salad, kale salad or chips. I also ordered a large iced tea. They have an awesome selection of freshly brewed tea. I did think it was unusual that iced tea was about a dollar more expensive than the fountain drinks (in the same size.) Not a fan of that.. but it is unlimited refills on all drinks so I will let it slide. All in all my sandwich, side, and iced tea rang up to about $13.
The sandwiches are the perfect size for lunch. The panini press makes them into cute little pockets that don't leave you feeling too full. Overall I enjoyed my sandwich, but it was just your typical caprese panini. Nothing to make it out of the ordinary. I didn't really enjoy their take on potato salad. It is more like mashed potatoes with black beans and corn. It was pretty bland even with the chipotle and my coworkers and I had to season with salt and pepper. I think I would go with the kale salad or chips next time! We enjoyed our lunch! I am not sure Zookz will be at the top of my list, but it was still a nice lunch spot.
